What your clients do with their pension funds is becoming ever more important, especially with changes to pension freedoms, new flexible working options and the fact that we’re living longer. Drawdown has become a far more popular option, along with regular or one-off withdrawals. We’ve been working hard to make sure our systems are ready and able to accommodate these demands.

Every financial services company will be tripping over themselves to win your clients’ business, by claiming to be the best. We feel that our Aviva products continue to be competitive in the market, but we don’t expect you to accept that at face value. Knowing what customers want and what obstacles are preventing you from giving your clients what they want, without bias, helps us identify what we’re doing well and where we can improve. We turned to the lang cat.

Giving us food for thought...and a place to start

The lang cat took a step into the financial adviser world and had many a conversation about retirement and the issues you as advisers face. Armed with all the research the lang cat could throw at us, we put together a market study.

A big talking point was technology – whether friend or foe, it plays a significant role in your lives. There were also many discussions around the changes in retirement itself, not just as a result of the pension reforms, but also due to the workforce choosing ever more flexible approaches to their employment. .

We think we have some of the answers. What do you think? Take a look at the research...

Draw your own conclusions
