The Aviva Guaranteed Fund is designed to offer some reassurance and peace of mind, providing clients with an attractive investment opportunity in uncertain markets. Suitable for more cautious investors, the fund provides the potential for growth with the added protection that no matter what happens in the market clients are guaranteed to get back their original investment on the fifth anniversary. The fund is available through Portfolio, Aviva’s investment bond. Portfolio has a minimum investment of £5,000, with a minimum per fund of £500.

Here are the main features of the Aviva Guaranteed Fund:


  • Launched in October 1995, the fund has a 14-year track record.
  • Available through Portfolio, both level and step down options.
  • Available on a tranche-based system – Tranche 7 was launched on 30 November 2009. Each tranche is open for up to 12 months.
  • Clients have the flexibility to switch units from an existing investment into the Guaranteed Fund.
  • Money-back guarantee – your client’s investment will be worth at least what they put in on the fifth anniversary or in the event of their death.
  • The Guaranteed Fund carries an Aviva risk rating of 2 (low to medium).
  • Our expert fund managers invest money in a balanced mixture of investments designed to grow your client’s money.
  • To spread risk, the fund can invest in UK gilts, corporate bonds, cash, equities and property.
  • The mixture or assets offers growth potential whilst providing the security of the money-back guarantee at the fifth anniversary of investment into the fund.
