Aviva for Advisers has pledged its support to a new initiative designed to tackle the UK’s protection gap by improving advisers’ conversations with mortgage customers.

The Rewire Routines campaign – organised by Sesame and PMS Mortgage Club – runs until 24 June, and is open to all advisers across the industry.

It asks intermediaries to sign a charter committing them to quote protection and general insurance for every mortgage customer during the campaign period. For every adviser who signs up, the two distribution brands will provide a wide range of support activity.

Mark Cracknell, Head of Protection Distribution at Aviva, said: “Aviva is delighted to be supporting the Rewire Routines campaign – to which over 600 advisers have already signed up.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to highlight the importance of protection, and through driving awareness with advisers and customers we can ensure that more families in the UK are protected.”

Advisers signing up to the campaign receive access to a support hub, which includes a marketing support pack with customer-facing literature, personal-branded mortgage interview guides and protection disclaimers. There are also videos and social media content to help advisers have more effective protection conversations with clients.

For every adviser who signs up, a donation will also be made to the British Heart Foundation by PMS, Sesame and several protection providers, including Aviva and LV=. The campaign aims to raise over £10,000 for the charity.
