Land Registry fee changes

You may be aware that the Land Registry has recently announced that there will be an increase in its fees from the 6 July 2009.

New fees - Lifetime Mortgages

Land Registry search (England and Wales only):

£12 per registered title

£5 per unregistered title

HM Land Registry

£50 to £920 (depending on the value of the property) - if property is unregistered

£50 to £570 (depending on the loan amount) - if property is already registered

New fees - Home Reversion

Land Registry search

£12 per registered title

£5 per unregistered title

HM Land Registry

£50 to £920 (depending on the value of the property)

What this means for your client

All customers that complete on or after the 6 July 2009 will be charged the new fees detailed above.

What this means for you

Please start informing customers of the new Land Registry fees, as you may already have customers in the pipeline that may complete on or after the 6 July 2009 (under the new fee scale).
